Hippo Sak proudly partnered with the Belle Isle Conservatory in Detroit, Michigan providing them with approximately 5,000 Hippo Sak Trash bags made from Recycled Ocean Plastic to help the organization do their part by cleaning up along the Detroit River as part of their annual Earth Day Great Global Clean Up event. Although this national event was canceled due to COVID-19 (postponed to Spring 2021), that did not stop the 73 dedicated Belle Isle Conservatory volunteers do their part to clean up the 982 acre island park. Belle Isle Conservatory has remained open to the public during the pandemic. As a result, there has been an influx of litter. With the donation from Hippo Sak, they were able to begin hosting cleanups again! At the first one which took place in late June 2020, the volunteers where able to remove 700 pounds of plastic pollution and other littered items from land and waterways of Belle Isle.
